1st Solo Wild Camp – Fan Fawr

My first solo wild camp after more years than I care to remember.  I was looking for somewhere I was confident it would be quiet but that I knew well and where I felt pretty safe leaving the car overnight – and Fan Fawr fitted the bill.  So I parked at Pont Ar Daf (just done the road from Storey Arms) and instead of following the crowds up Pen Y Fan I crossed the road and headed up the hill.

I had a new Station13 Shield tent and a new Gopro Hero 9 with which to attempt to film my first Youtube video.  I made several rookie mistakes but survived the night and got back down safely to find the car was still there. All in all a win.

About Me

Hello. My name is Roger and despite nearly 70 years experience of life I still haven't made any real sense of it.

I'm married to Linda who kindly shares many of my outdoor adventures with me. We have two grown up sons and two young granddaughters.

Retired after 40 years working for the same company I spend my time with my family, Hill-walking, Wild Camping, Scouting, and anything else I can fit in.
